Custom Infidelity DNA Test

Build Your Own Infidelity DNA Test – Choose Your Samples and Testing Options

Not every infidelity DNA testing situation is the same. You may have found suspicious stains on clothing, want to know whether semen or saliva is present, or need to compare DNA found on an item against your own DNA or another person's DNA.

Our Custom Infidelity DNA Test allows you to select the laboratory testing services that best fit your situation, rather than purchasing a predetermined testing package.

Choose the number of evidence samples, add reference DNA samples for comparison, and include optional semen or saliva detection testing.

Validity Genetics provides discreet, confidential laboratory testing with detailed results to help you understand what was detected on the items submitted.

Standard Results: 5–7 Business Days After Laboratory Receipt

Important: This is a laboratory testing service, not a physical product. You are responsible for sending the items you want tested to our laboratory. Collection materials or instructions for reference swabs may be provided when applicable.

Customize Your Infidelity DNA Test

Build your testing package by selecting the options available above.

1. Select Your Evidence Samples

Choose how many items or non-standard samples (NSS) you want analyzed.

Evidence samples may include:

  • Underwear or other clothing

  • Bed sheets and pillowcases

  • Fabric containing suspicious stains

  • Used condoms

  • Toothbrushes or personal items

  • Other items potentially containing human DNA

Each item can be examined for recoverable DNA. When sufficient genetic material is present, our laboratory attempts to generate DNA profiles and determine whether male DNA, female DNA, or a mixture is detected.

Important: The presence of DNA does not establish when or how it was deposited or prove that infidelity occurred.

2. Add DNA Comparison Samples

Want to know whether DNA found on an item belongs to you, your partner, or another known individual?

Add one or more comparison samples to your order.

Oral Swab Comparison: A cheek swab collected from a known individual provides a reference DNA profile for comparison.

Non-Standard Comparison Sample: In some cases, a personal item such as a toothbrush may be used as a reference sample when a cheek swab is unavailable.

Comparison testing helps determine whether a suitable DNA profile recovered from an evidence sample is consistent with the submitted reference DNA.

When multiple people may have contributed DNA to an item, results can be more complex and may not allow every contributor to be distinguished.

3. Add Semen Detection Testing

If you found a suspicious stain on clothing, bedding, or another item, you may want to know whether semen is present.

Our laboratory offers a confirmatory Semen Detection Test using RSID testing technology, which detects the semen-associated protein semenogelin.

Results are reported as positive or negative for semen detection.

Semen detection and DNA profiling are separate tests. A positive semen result does not identify whose semen is present. DNA extraction and comparison testing may provide additional information when sufficient DNA can be recovered.

Learn more about our Semen Detection Testing.

4. Add Saliva Detection Testing

If you suspect that an item contains saliva, you can include our confirmatory Saliva Detection Test.

This laboratory test uses RSID technology to detect salivary alpha-amylase, a protein associated with human saliva.

Saliva detection can help evaluate certain stains or items for the presence of saliva, but it does not identify the person who deposited it.

DNA extraction and comparison are separate procedures and may be added when appropriate.

5. Review Your Custom Testing Package

Once you've selected your evidence samples, comparison samples, and optional detection tests, review the available selections and total price before adding the test to your cart.

Not sure which options you need? Contact Validity Genetics before ordering. We can help you determine which testing services are appropriate for the items and questions involved.

What Can a Custom Infidelity DNA Test Tell You?

Depending on the testing options selected and the condition of the samples, your results may provide information about:

  • Whether recoverable human DNA was detected.

  • Whether male DNA, female DNA, or a mixture was identified.

  • Whether one or multiple DNA contributors may be present.

  • Whether recovered DNA profiles are consistent with known reference samples.

  • Whether semen was detected, when semen detection was ordered.

  • Whether saliva was detected, when saliva detection was ordered.

Our laboratory provides a report describing the testing performed, available DNA findings, and applicable comparison results.

What DNA testing cannot tell you: DNA testing cannot independently establish that someone cheated, determine when DNA was deposited, or identify an unknown individual without a suitable reference for comparison.

Some samples may contain insufficient, degraded, or mixed DNA, limiting the conclusions that can be drawn.

How to Collect and Send Samples for Infidelity DNA Testing

Proper sample handling is important for obtaining the most useful laboratory results.

Step 1: Handle Evidence Carefully

Avoid unnecessary handling of the item or suspected stain. Wear clean disposable gloves when possible, and avoid touching the area you want tested.

Do not wash, clean, or apply chemicals to the item before submission.

Step 2: Allow Wet Samples to Air-Dry

If the item is damp or wet, allow it to air-dry completely before packaging.

Do not use a hair dryer, heater, or other heat source to accelerate drying.

Step 3: Package Each Sample Separately

Place each evidence item into its own clean paper envelope or paper bag.

Label each package with:

  • Order number

  • Sample name or description

  • Collection date, if known

  • Approximate age of the sample, if known

For clothing or fabric stains, clearly identify the area you want tested. When practical, send the entire item rather than cutting out the stain.

Do not place damp evidence directly into sealed plastic bags.

Step 4: Package Reference Samples

If you are submitting oral swabs or other comparison samples, package each person's sample separately and label it clearly.

Do not allow evidence samples and comparison samples to come into contact with one another.

Step 5: Ship Your Samples to Our Laboratory

Place all individually packaged samples and required paperwork into a larger shipping envelope or box.

We recommend using a shipping service that provides tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Infidelity DNA Testing

What is a Custom Infidelity DNA Test?

A Custom Infidelity DNA Test allows you to select the laboratory services needed for your situation. You can choose evidence samples for DNA analysis, add known DNA comparison samples, and request additional semen or saliva detection testing.

Can I test multiple items for DNA?

Yes. You can select multiple evidence samples, such as clothing, bedding, toothbrushes, or other personal items. Each item is analyzed according to the testing options selected and the condition of the sample.

Can the test determine whether DNA belongs to my partner or another person?

DNA profiles recovered from evidence can be compared against reference samples from known individuals. If sufficient DNA is available, the laboratory can evaluate whether a recovered profile is consistent with a submitted reference. Testing cannot identify an unknown individual without suitable comparison information.

Does DNA testing detect semen and saliva automatically?

No. Semen detection and saliva detection are separate laboratory services. Standard autosomal DNA profiling analyzes recoverable human DNA but does not independently confirm the presence of either bodily fluid. You can add the appropriate detection tests to your custom order.

Can I order semen detection without DNA comparison?

Yes. Semen detection can be performed independently of DNA profiling or comparison. The result indicates whether semen was detected in the tested sample but does not identify the person who deposited it.

What if more than one person's DNA is found?

An evidence sample may contain a mixture of DNA from multiple individuals. The laboratory will evaluate the available genetic information and report the findings that can be supported. Some mixed samples may not provide enough information for a definitive comparison.

What happens if no usable DNA is recovered?

Some samples contain insufficient or degraded DNA for profiling. If usable DNA cannot be recovered, the laboratory will report the applicable findings. A negative or inconclusive DNA result does not necessarily mean the item was never in contact with another person.

How long does testing take?

Most Custom Infidelity DNA Test results are completed within 5–7 business days after the laboratory receives the samples. Certain complex or specialized cases may require additional time.

Is Custom Infidelity DNA Testing confidential?

Yes. Validity Genetics handles infidelity DNA testing discreetly. Results are delivered securely to the purchaser or another authorized recipient. These tests are intended for personal information and are not performed under legal chain-of-custody procedures.

Can I get help selecting the right testing options?

Yes. If you are uncertain whether you need DNA profiling, comparison testing, semen detection, saliva detection, or a combination of services, contact Validity Genetics before ordering. Our team can help explain the available options.
