Accurate Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity DNA Testing

Accurate Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity DNA Testing

Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity (NIPP) Testing

Get answers before your baby is born - Accurate results from the 8th week of pregnancy

The Prenatal Paternity DNA test can determine the father of a child starting as early as the 8th week of pregnancy (if the baby is already born a Paternity DNA Test should be used). Utilizing a simple blood draw from the pregnant mother our trained DNA analysts will separate fetal DNA from the mothers blood cells. Then the baby’s DNA will be compared to a buccal (oral cheek) swab from the potential father. This process will decisively determine whether he is the father of the unborn child.

Using this method there is absolutely no risk of miscarriage or harm to the unborn baby or the mother.

As the Prenatal Paternity DNA Test requires a blood draw from the mother, a trained phlebotomist will be needed.

When ordering please be prepared to provide the address of the clinic/phlebotomist who will be assisting, or we can assist in choosing one (additional fee may apply).

Need help finding a clinic?

All Prenatal Paternity Test orders should be made a minimum of one full week in advance of any scheduled visit, so that we may verify and ship the kits to you or to the collection clinic in time.

When choosing a place to do the blood draw make sure the clinic/phlebotomist understands they must assist in collecting all necessary information, retain control of the sample after it is taken, and ship all samples and pertinent info immediately to the laboratory address we provide via the included overnight shipping package.

We strongly recommend having the potential father provide a sample before or at the same time as the mother, as the blood sample must be shipped ASAP.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ One of the People to be tested lives in a different city or state, can I have a test sent to them?

  • Yes! If the mother and potential father live at different addresses, different cities, or even in different states, we can send separate kits to everyone involved.

For our regular or informational NIPP test simply add the Additional Kit/Split Kit add-on to your cart and enter the secondary address in the pop-up fields provided (your address, where the main blood draw kit will be sent, will be entered upon checkout).

For the Legal NIPP test, add the Professional DNA Collection add-on to your cart and a representative will contact you, via email or phone, to schedule both the time for your test and to help schedule the fathers time of testing.

+ I am not sure what paternity test is for me, how can you help me decide?

  • Of course! Our team of DNA professionals are here to listen to your needs and help you decide on what is best for you. We have multiple ways for you to get a hold of us. Send us an email from our Contact Us page, chat with a specialist on our Facebook Page via Messenger, or give us a call!

+ How much does a Non-Invasive Prenatal paternity test cost?

  • This is the most asked question by our clients. We currently offer two versions of NIPP test: Informational and Legal.

An informational NIPP test starts at $1700.

A legal NIPP starts at $1900.

For paternity testing after the child is born see our Paternity Testing Page, or for court or legal reasons our Legal Paternity Test page.

+ Can a Prental Paternity Test Harm me or my baby?

  • No. Unlike older more invasive methods, such as amniocentesis/CVS, there is absolutely no risk to either the unborn baby or to the mother when using a Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity test.

+ Can This test tell the gender/sex of the baby?

  • Yes! This test can tell you the gender of your baby as early as 7-8 weeks. Simply choose the option at checkout.

+ What happens if the test is inconclusive?

  • This is most often caused by not enough fetal DNA in the blood stream. Sometimes this is caused by testing too early or the mothers BMI is too high.
If there is not enough fetal DNA and results cannot be generated, we will schedule another test, at no extra cost, after two to three weeks.

+ Are there any additional costs involved?

  • The only additional costs that may incur are if you choose to add any additional participants (second father to test against), kits or services to your order, and the fee for the medical blood draw.

Shipping both to you, or the collection site, and return shipping to the laboratory is included.
