We understand some situations require secret DNA testing. For those who want to test an individual without asking for a cheek swab, there are several alternative ways to gather a sample, such as a toothbrush DNA test. View our complete list of acceptable sources for alternative samples below.

Simply purchase any of our DNA test kits and provide an alternative sample for one or more of the individuals being tested. It is acceptable to send an alternative sample for one individual and a standard cheek swab for the other person being tested.

Discreet Forensic DNA Testing Sample Examples

PLEASE NOTE: Validity Genetics cannot guarantee there will be a sufficient amount of DNA to obtain results when sending in alternative DNA samples for testing. The success rate depends on the quality of the alternative DNA sample provided. Once the alternative DNA sample (Ex. toothbrush or clothing item) is received, it will be sent to our forensic lab for viability testing. The testing fee for viability is non-refundable.

If any sample has insufficient DNA, a new sample will be requested for an additional fee, and no refund will be applicable. Every additional alternative DNA Sample sent for the same individual will be an additional fee. The final results will be emailed within 5-7 business days.

WHAT KIND OF SAMPLES DO I NEED TO PROVIDE?

We primarily use simple oral buccal swabs (cheek cell collection) to collect samples for our quick easy home and legal DNA tests.

Validity Genetics can test from a variety of other types of samples. However, in these cases an extra fee may apply as well as a possible longer turnaround time for sample processing.

How fast can I get my results?

Validity Genetics offers a quick turnaround time of only two business days once received at the lab for all of our standard buccal swab DNA collection tests. We also have rush options available if needed (may not available on some special sample types such as Infidelity Testing).

How accurate are the tests?

Our procedures test for 22 genetic markers and the gender identification marker amelogenin. This ensures you receive 99.99% accurate test results.

A general principle for DNA testing is that the more genetic information available, the greater the precision of the test.
